Genesis Monserrate is a first-year law student at The Pennsylvania State University-Penn State Law. She graduated magna cum laude with a B.A. in Journalism and Mass Communications, Global Studies, and Italian from Arizona State University. Prior to law school, she was a student reporter for the university’s newscast, Cronkite News, that airs on Arizona PBS, where she covered both local and international issues. She served as an editorial intern at the United Nations Interregional Crime & Justice Research Institute where she researched about child soldiers and counter-terrorism. She also served as a research intern for the U.S. Consulate in Hermosillo where she assisted in developing a social media strategy to promote the consulate’s services to the community. She hopes to pursue a legal career in international corporate law.
