Front line and essential workers, such as hospital workers, firefighters, that are at risk of being exposed and contracting Coronavirus due to their jobs may be entitled to have medical expenses covered at 100%, compensation if they are unable to work due to illness, and compensation for any permanent damage that may incur as a result of this virus.
The Illinois Occupational Diseases Act works in conjunction with the Workers’ Compensation Act and offers sick and infected workers many of the same rights and benefits under Illinois Law.
Workers who are exposed and contract Coronavirus in the course of their employment would presumably be covered under the Act.
