A man in Illinois died from a car crash that occurred on Chicago's North Side on July 30. Local reports claim that a 71-year-old man was struck by a vehicle as he was preparing to load groceries into the back of his vehicle. He had just left the store with his 69-year-old partner. His partner claims that she was on the sidewalk helping him as he was attempting to open the door when she heard the sound of an explosion.

The woman told reporters she was thrown to the pavement following the collision. Eyewitnesses claim that the driver of a vehicle had sped through a red light at an intersection, causing a chain-reaction crash that struck a parked car.
