The Illinois Department of Public Health publishes its findings of nursing home violations quarterly.  For the fourth quarter of 2019, the Department has issued fines to a number of nursing homes. The fines come as a result of a variety of neglect, improper care, and abuse.  They including failing to re-position a patient in bed, failing to protect resident from sexual assault, failure to prevent fall and failure to properly treat a pressure ulcer.

The monetary fines range from $25,000 to $50,000. Aperion Care of Forest Park was issued an AA Citation, which is for an occurrence which results in the death of the resident. According to the report, the nursing home failed to monitor a resident with a history of leaving the facility without an escort.
